Celia White (Bachelor of Arts '13, Double Major in Anthropology and Global Studies) has made a rewarding career out of her passion for sustainability and food security. She works for The Meal Exchange, a national youth-led, non-profit organization that empowers students to take an active role in creating a just and sustainable food system. She is in charge of running a national program that works to transform institutional food budgets away from industrialized farms and junk food and toward socially just, ecologically sound, humane and community-based foods.
She was also the Healthy Communities Coordinator at VIU for a year, and made lasting improvements to VIU's sustainability and food security initiatives during that time. Read more
